Preparation of Ultrafine α-Fe_2O_3 Powder by Homogeneous Precipitation Method

Ultrafine α-Fe2O3 powder were synthesized by homogenous precipitation method with the CO(NH2)2 as uniformity precipitation reagent and the FeCl3 as iron source.The calcinations temperature of the precursor was determined by TGA/SDTA.The crystal structure,shape and size of the ultrafine α-Fe2O3 were investigated by means of X-ray powder diffraction and electron microscope.The results show that the product was α-Fe2O3,the average size of the powder was about 0.2 μm and the powder was well dispersed.The principle of preparation of ultrafine α-Fe2O3 powder by homogenous precipitation reaction was discussed.
