Effect of Water-based Cutting Fluid on Sawing Performance for Nucleated Glass

The experimental researches on additives in water-based cutting fluid used for cutting of nucleated glass were reported in this paper.Experiment of three levels and four factors is designed based on taguchi method.The effects of the ratio of sodium fluoride,glycol,and quadrol on the surface roughness of the slices and cutting efficiency of slicing were analyzed.Prescription of cutting fluid based on reducing the surface roughness and improving cutting efficiency were obtained.Cutting fluid has the best machinability based on the research,which contains glycol volume fraction 30%,sodium fluoride mass fraction 0.1% and pH value of cutting fluid 11.5.
