Study on the Defects of LaFeO_3 Crystal

The LaFeO3polycrystalline feed rod was prepared using La2O3and Fe2O3powders as material at 1400 ℃ for 24 h. The LaFeO3crystal was grown by the floating zone method. The defects included the crack,the void,the growth layer,the inclusions,and the dislocation and formation of defects in LaFeO3 crystal was studied systematically. The approach to reduce and control defects was suggested by analyzing the defects. Meanwhile,the growth process was optimized,and the quality of LaFeO3was improved.
