Preparation and Photocatalytic Properties of Nd~(3+)-Mesoporous TiO_2/GO Composites by Hydrothermal Method

Nd~(3+)doped mesoporous TiO_2 was first prepared and a series of Nd~(3+)-mesoporous TiO_2 /GO composites were synthesized by hydrothermal method.The obtain samples were characterized by XRD,TEM,BJH,BET,XPS and UV-vis to reveal microstructure,morphology,valence of the element in sample surfaces and the spectroscopy properties.The methyl orange was used to simulate pollutant to investigate their photocatalytic activity.The results show that the samples with particle size 3-4 nm was anatase phase TiO_2 .The results of UV-vis analysis showed that the synergistic effect of both Nd~(3+)and GO could also more effectively reduce forbidden band width of TiO_2 semiconductor compared with Nd~(3+)-mesoporous TiO_2 and TiO_2 /GO.In addition,the photocatalytic degradation experiment of methyl orange under the different light irradiation showed that the samples prepared owned good photocatalytic activity to ultraviolet and visible light,especially Nd~(3+)-mesoporous TiO_2 /GO composites showed more outstanding photocatalytic activity on visible light.
