Preparation and Photocatalytic Activity of g-C_3N_4/ZnO Composite Photocatalyst

g-C_3N_4/Zn O composite photocatalysts were prepared by the reflux method using zinc nitrate,melamine,sodium hydroxide as raw material.The composition and morphology of photocatalysts were investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(UV-Vis DRS)and N_2adsorption desorption(BET)techniques.The photocatalytic activity of the samples was evaluated with methylene blue as the simulated pollutant under simulated solar radiation.The results show that the g-C_3N_4/Zn O composite photocatalyst with g-C_3N_4content of 5wt%,calcination temperature of 500℃and calcining time under the conditions of 2 h show the highest degradation rate.The degradation rate of methylene blue can be reach 98.5%with 5wt%g-C_3N_4/Zn O composite photocatalyst in 40 min,and the photocatalytic degradation rate was 2.8 times higher than the pure Zn O.
