Effect of a Direct Current Constant Magnetic Field on Wear Characteristics for 45~# Steel

The influence of a direct current constant magnetic field on wear behavior of 45# steel pin against ring was investigated in air atmosphere.The results indicate that wear mass loss of the samples decreases obviously when a magnetic field was applied.With the increase of magnetic intensity,wear mass loss of the samples reduces gradually.Micro-analysis by 3-D surface morphology measurer shows that the worn surface in the presence of a magnetic field is smoother.
