Analysis on Temperature Field of Liquid Film Lubricated Non-contacting Mechanical Seals

The distribution of temperature field of liquid film non-contacting mechanical seals was calculated using the finite element software ANSYS and the result was compared with the temperature field of contacting seals under the same conditions.The effect of thermal conductivity of seal materials,rotating speed,viscosity of sealing medium and thickness of liquid film on the temperature field was analyzed.The results show that thermal conductivity of seal materials and rotating speed have a great effect on face temperature,and the effect of thickness of liquid film can be neglected.
