The Analysis of the Performance of Water-lubricated Journal Bearing with Water Grooves in the Axial Direction Based on MATLAB

The lubrication performance of water-lubricated journal bearing with water grooves in the axial direction was studied by numerical analysis method based on MATLAB,including the water film thickness of water film of hydrodynamic lubrication,the distribution of pressure,the carrying capacity of the bearing.The results show that the pressure distribution is inconsecutive on the bearing with water grooves in the axial direction,the pressure falls to zero in the water grooves.In the case of a same geometrical size,the carrying capacity of a grooved bearing is lower than that of an not grooved one.With the increase of water groove width and water groove number,the carrying capacity of bearing decreases.
