Life Prediction Model of Nonmetallic Gasket Sealing

Considering the effect of the gasket compressive stress change and the deterioration of materials on sealing performance, the physical model for predicting the life of nonmetallic gasket sealing was built according to the transfer theory of fluid through porous medium.Some constant stress accelerated life tests were carried out on the compressed non-asbestos fiber gaskets,and the life distribution model was put forward.According to the testing data and the presented model,the life of compressed non-asbestos fiber gasket sealing was predicted,and the results accord with those of the joints in service.
