Study on Tribological Behaviors of Lubricant Containing Nanodiamond Modified with 1,3-propanediamine

Laser Granularity and TEM analyses indicates dispersibility of nanodiamond is improved by modification of 1,3-propanediamine.As a novel oil-based load-carrying lubricant additive,tribological behaviors of the modified nanodiamond were studied on the MMW-1 mode universal friction wear testing machine.Results show that the modified nanodiamond could improve the microcosmic abrasion condition of friction pairs obviously,and enhance the wear resistant performance of base oil remarkably.While content of the modified nanodiamond amounts to 0.6%,the load-carrying value of the base oil increases by 42%,the friction coefficient decreases by 19.0%,and the wear scar diameter reduces by 15.4%.It is difficult to identify the wear scar.
