Application of Projection Pursuit in Wear Condition Evaluation of Diesel Engine

There exist a good many shortages in current evaluation methods for diesel engine's wear condition based on oil spectrum.A new evaluation model based on projection pursuit(PP) was presented.Through transforming multi-dimension evaluation indexes into low dimension space,searching the best project orientation by genetic algorithm,obtaining the value of projection function of the best project orientation,the evaluation method can realize wear condition synthetic evaluation of diesel engine based on the value of projection function.Compared with other synthetic evaluation methods,this evaluation method uses the best project orientation as the weight of each evaluation index,which avoids the jamming of weight by traditional methods,it's more reasonable and scientific.
