Study on dangerous flow of Jushui River considering backwater influence of Yangtze River

The Jushui River is a tributary of the Yangtze River. Many big floods occurred in history and brought huge losses to the local society and economy. We studied the dangerous flow of Jushui River considering the backwater effect of the Yangtze River. The MIKE11 was used to construct one-dimensional hydrodynamic model for the Yangtze River and the Jushui River. The flood routing of Yangtze River and the Jushui River with different flood composition were simulated. The dangerous flows at Liuzigang Station,Jushui River,corresponding to different magnitude floods of the Yangtze River were determined. The results can provide scientific basis for the determination of the critical rainfall warning indexes in this area.
