Research on hydrologic regime of lower Jinsha River based on RVA method

The operation of hydropower station can not only provide comprehensive benefits for flood control,power generation and water supply,but also change the natural distribution process of runoff and the original hydrological regime of the river,and causes some impair to the ecological environment of the lower reaches. Taking Pingshan hydrological station in the Jinsha River basin as an example,firstly,we carry out reduction calculation of the storage quantity of cascade reservoirs to the natural hydrological process at Pingshan station and rebuild the natural runoff series,then analyze the impact of cascade reservoir in operation on the lower reaches of the Jinsha River by RVA method. The result show that the overall hydrological indexes of Pingshan station have changed obviously. Secondly,we simulate the operation scenarios of the planned large-scale reservoirs and forecast the hydrological situation variation of Pingshan station. It is concluded that the construction of large reservoirs,such as Wudongde,Baihetan,will reduce the runoff at Pingshan station by 20% to 40% in flood season and greatly increase the runoff in dry period compared with the current situation. This study can provide reference for the operation optimization of cascade reservoirs in the upstream of the Jinsha River.
