Study on optimization of multi-units operation of frequency conversion and speed regulating in pumping stations

South-to-North Water Diversion Project is a major project of water resources dispatch and distribution in China,of which pumping station is an indispensable part. Aiming at the frequency conversion and speed regulation of multi-units operation in pumping station,we establish a mathematical model of optimal daily operation for pump station. Taking No. 3 Huaiyin pumping station on East Route Project of South-to-North Water Diversion as a study case,with the consideration on peak and valley electricity prices,the optimal operation of frequency conversion and speed regulation of the pump station is studied by using improved dynamic programming algorithm. In the calculation,by analyzing the constraints,removing the starting-stopping combinations that do not meet the requirements,the dimensions of the optimization are reduced and the problem of"multidimensional disaster"is solved. The calculation results shows that the optimal operation of No. 3 Huaiyin pumping station can save3. 5% costs comparing with the operation at fixed blade angle and constant speed. In the peak stage,the main factor influencing the operation cost is the number of units in working state,shutdown state of unit is preferred in the premise of meeting the demand. In the valley stage,the unit should run in a way of high energy consumption of per unit water lift to reduce the amount of water lift during peak stage.
