OXIDATION OF METHANE TO METHANOL AT ATMOSPHLC PRESSURE Ⅱ.CATAL.YSIS MEMBRANE REACTOR(CMR)

SiO_2 and Mo-Co-O/SiO_2 micropore membrane supported on porous ceramicsubstrate was prepared with Sol-Gel method.Its structure was characterized by SEM,XRD,pore radius measurement and other techniques. In preparation of”SiO_2/ceramic”membrane( Ⅰ ) ,the organic adhesive is a useful additive which could improve the whole sutface of the capping SiO_2 and pore radius distribution of( Ⅰ ). The(Ⅰ) with pore radius ofabout 2~4nm was used as substrate of”Mo-Co-O/SiO_2/ceramic“membrane(Ⅱ)(Mo/Co=5, atom ratio).The catalysis membrane reactor(CMR)with(Ⅱ)has been used in the oxidation ofmethane to methanol at atmospheric pressure and 500~700℃. In the inner tube of the reactor flows air,the oxidant,and in the outer tube flows methane, which oxidjzed tomethanol on the catalytic membrane. With enhancing the pressure difference between twosides of membrane,the conversion of CH_4 could be increased greatly. At pressure differenceof 0.5kPa,a good yield of methanol was obtained. When the pore radius of(Ⅰ)was largerthan 4nm,catalytic activity of(Ⅱ)supported on(Ⅰ) decreased.On the similar reactionconditions,when the conversion of methane is 1.0%,the selectivitv of methanol is 11.2%inCMR;4.5%in FBR(fixed bed reactor).
