OXIODATION ACTIVITY AND THERMAL STABILITY OF Pd-Pt/Al_2O_3 COMBUSTION CATALYST

In this paper, the activity and thermal stability of Pd-pt/Al_2O_3 catalyst forcomplete oxidation of toluene were studied.Experimental results show that the oxidation ac-tivity of Pd-pt catalyst is better than that with Pd or Pt alone. Initial oxidation activity ofcatalyst is not related to Pd and Pt loading. Thermal stability is affected by the amount ofsupported Pd and Pt,but not by the surface area of Al_2O_3.The decrease in Pd and Pt coutent on the surface of catalyst caused by high temperature treatment is the main reason forcatalytic activity decrease. This catalyst can be applied to the removal of organic pollutants.
