Effect of environmental relative humidity on concrete carbonation

There are some differences among concrete structure under atmospheric environment, hydraulic concrete structure, and underground concrete structure for carbonization process,which is due to the influence of the environmental relative humidity on carbonization process. Summarizing and analyzing the impacts of environmental relative humidity on pore saturation in concrete, carbon dioxide diffusion coefficient, chemistry reaction concrete and method of carbonization assessment for concrete, this paper explains the model among environmental relative humidity, pore saturation in concrete, carbon dioxide diffusion coefficient. Lastly, the paper makes a review on the prediction model of concrete carbonation about considering environmental relative humidity. In the process of engineering application, we can choose the appropriate the model of concrete carbonation based on the conditions of engineering, and predict and analyze carbonation depth under the different levels of environmental relevant humidity.
