Hydraulic Geometry and Characteristics of Scouring and Deposition of the Yellow River Course Downstream Aishan

Qi Pu et al. (Institute of Hydraulic Research of YRCC, Zhengzhou, 450003)
According to an overall analysis on the observed data of the Yellow River in Shandong section, the author expounds channel hydraulic geometry, characteristics of movable bed resistance and close relationship between different hydraulic characteristics and characteristics of aggradation and deaggradation of bed load and suspended load; and analyses the main reason of scouring is when water level raises and silting is as the water level falls down caused by that the movement speed of bed load lags the travel speed of the flood and coarse sand of d_(50)=0.05~0.1mm can be delivered smoothly by floods.
