The Scientific System of Soil and Water Conservation in the Yellow River Basin

Liu Wanquan(The Upper and Middle Bureau of Yellow River,Xi'an 710043)  
The science and techniques of soil and water conservation in the Yellow River have been quickly developed since the people started harnessing the river,and an integrated scientific system has been formed in which there are five major components,i. e.,laws of soil and water loss,soil and water conservation measurements,soil and water conservation planning,soil and water conservation effects,and soil and water conservation management,which bring about a great advance in soil and water conservation.
