Summary of Study on Fluid Mud Movement

The paper systematically presents the progress of fluid mud movement study. It summarizes the study and achievements on fluid mud definition, the formed mechanism and condition, the movement characteristics under the action of flow and waves and under the integrated actions of stormy waves and flow at seacoast and river mouth studied by scholars for a long time. It points out that the fluid mud has a far-reaching influence to the back deposition of navigation channel at delta and environmental pollution at ports; it has profound significance to study the law of fluid mud movement; it is very difficult to conduct similar simulation tests of fluid mud movement due to the limitation of testing conditions and; the similar simulation tests of fluid mud movement remain to be further deepened, strengthened and increased.
