Application of Finie-Difference Strength-Reduction Method to Loess Slope Stability Analysis

Comparing with the conventional method of slope stability study and analysis, it is more convenient and reasonable and can reflect the actual slope condition in a more realistic way to obtain the safety factor of slope through methods of strength-reduction and finite-difference. It applies to natural slopes, reclaimed slopes and excavated slopes. It selects ideal elasto-plastic model and suitable yield criterion and moving principle to evaluate the stability of loess slopes of excavated two level stilling basins of Xiduancun Reservoir by using finite-difference strength-reduction method and FLAC-3D analytical program, which has achieved good results and further approved the practicability of finite-difference strength-reduction method in projects.
