Experiments on Dynamic Characteristics of Fly Ash and Application of New Apparatus

A new dynamic and static triaxial apparatus was employed to perform dynamic shear modulus and liquefaction test for coarse fly ash and fine fly ash under different confining pressures and consolidation ratios.The relations between dynamic shear modulus ratio,damping ratio and dynamic shear strain were analyzed and the factors affecting liquefaction properties of the fly ash were discussed.The results show that the test data with new apparatus conforms to general rules,dynamic stress intensity of fine fly ash is smaller than that of coarse fly ash,and it is more reliable for construction design according to fine ash and liquefaction strength of fly ash enhances with the increases of consolidation ratio.
