Investigation on Formula of Sediment- Carrying Capacity in the Ancient Yellow River Delta

Using the hydrologic and sediment data measured in summer and winter of the Yellow River delta,multiple formulas had been used to calculate the sediment- carrying capacity. On this basis,comparative analysis of correlation coefficient method,standardized minimum distance method,concentration coefficient method and deviation coefficient method were used. The results show that the estuarine sediment- carrying capacity formula can reflect the sediment transport condition of the ancient Yellow River delta and has high accuracy. Due to each test method with different focus,contradictory test results will be obtained,so we need using multiple test methods in this study.
