Application of Rescaled Variance and Wavelet Analysis in Runoff Analysis

In order to reveal the essence law of runoff change and multi-scale influencing factors and based on the measured monthly runoff data during 1960- 2004 of Huaxian Hydraulic Station on Weihe River,the paper calculated the runoff series of the scaling exponent by using the sliding rescaled variance and analyzed the wavelet transform. The results show that the evolution of scale exponent for measured runoff sequence presents obvious three phases and the mutations occurrs in 1969 and 1989. The Hurst presents 6 a and 10 a or so cycle characteristics,which has a connection with ENSO and sunspot activity.
