Remote sesing Investigation on River Regime of the Lower Yellow River in Flood Season in 1993

Satellite remote sensing investigation on river regime was conducted at first in the Yellow River by using MERIDIAN remote sensing image processing system and with combination of the best wave bands, linear stretchment and enlargement density cut of TM images.The superorities of this method were as follow:(1)counter-acting the weakness of visual estimation of river regime;(2)exactly determining the flow route of river regime,position of main flow route,range of floodplain, mark of floodwater, productive embankment,position of flood ertry exit of main floodplain, flood-entered -surrounded villages etc.;(3)calculating area of all kinds of floodplain and its distribution density in detail.
