Study on the Erosion Environmental Development Orientation in the Middle Yellow River

The Research Group(Institute of Geography Research,the Chinese Academy of Sciences,and the China National Planning Commission,Beijing,100101)  
The eroded sediment yields in three various spatial scale land forms,i.e.,typical geomophological areas,intensive erosion central region with high sediment yield,and small watersheds and gullies,in the whole middle Yellow River region are studied in the paper,and resulted in that the average annual eroded sediment yield is l,465. 5 million tons in the whole middle Yellow River region (1970 to 1989) land 358 million tons in the intensive erosion central region; the sediment yields from gullies are accounted for 70% to 80% of that of whole watersheds in many cases,and accounted for 85% in river source region. Besides,the paper has preliminarily estimated the sediment delivery into the Yellow River up to the middle of 21st century.
