The Goal and Focus of the Strategy of Building a Service-oriented Government

Bo Guili
By 2020 when the goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and the overall objective of administrative system reform are realized,China will have established a service-oriented government that fits social and economic development levels, meets the people's growing demand for public goods, operates under relatively sound mechanisms and systems, and becomes notably more able to provide basic public services. This is the general goal of China's medium-and long-term strategy of building a serviceoriented government. The strategic goal is as important as the strategic focus, which includes stepping up efforts to resolve the most difficult problems in reform and deepening institutional reform in relevant areas.
