The Rise and Fall of the Great Powers are Determined by Their Models——Revelations from a Discussion on Laws Governing the Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union,US and Japan

Liu Jiangyong
Since the end of World War II,capitalism and socialism have "coexisted with antagonism between them" during the Cold War and then "coexisted in a state of mutual tolerance." In the 21st century, whether competence among the models of various countries will begin a new historical process of the two systems "cooperating with each other" is a good topic. It merits careful study from both theoretical and practical perspectives. The author believes that the competence among the said various models is the most significant factor determining the vicissitudes of great powers and has a direct bearing on the shift in influence of capitalism and socialism.China's economic and political reforms do not bring about essential changes in its form of society,or social and political systems but hold as adjustment, improvement and development of the country's socialist model.
