Having a Keen Understanding of the Development Level Gap Between China and Japan——Report of an Investigation Trip to Japan

Liu Yingjie
We paid an investigation visit to Japan in which we made contact with relevant people and had an opportunity to experience Japanese society. On returning to China,we keenly felt that when evaluating Japan's development we cannot simply start from the superficial fact that the size of Chinese economy has surpassed that of Japan and become the second largest in the world. On the whole,Japan has entered a stage of civilization with highly developed society and economy. In contrast,China still lags far behind Japan in modernization level. We must be clearly aware of China's development positioning, seize the opportunity to accelerate development, draw bitter lessons from the Japanese bubble economy, become even more concerned about ecological preservation, environmental protection and social development, and improve the overall quality of the people of China.
