Report on the Chinese Public Trust of Medical Security System

Survey Centre of People's Tribune;
The Social Medical Security System was composed of four elements: the medical demander, the medical supplier, the medical insurance and the health administration. The trust of medical security system reflected the public's trust in the "supplier", "insurer" and "health administration". According to this survey, the score of the overall trust of medical security system was moderate higher than average. Particularly, public's trust in the supplier was the worst; the trust level in the health administration was medium to high, and trust in the insurer was the best. The report also found that, the public's trust in the non-government medical security was worse. The overall level of trust in Medical Security System was affected by region and work type. There are several possible solutions to improve the public trust in medical security effectively, including promoting the marketization of medical supplier, facilitating the rationalization of indirect administration management, furthering pluralistic operation in insurance companies, clarifying the relationship of market and government, reinvigorating the medical resources and increasing multi- level medical insurance coverage.
