Chang Yuan;Wu Jingsong;
Based on data collected in an investigation of 932 STEM students in six colleges and universities in Shaanxi Province, this article adopted the SPSS21.0 linear regression analysis method to examine the factors affecting the STEM students' satisfaction with their specialties from five dimensions, and found that the STEM students of applied universities have a low satisfaction degree with their specialties; the instructors' teaching effectiveness has a significant impact on students' satisfaction; and differences exist in the satisfaction degree of STEM students of different universities. In order to get the STEM students to be more satisfied with their majors in applied universities, this paper pointed out that we should improve the teaching staff in an all-round manner so as to adapt to the requirements of STEM majors; reform the STEM education mode of applied universities from the supply-side; and cultivate a good social image of the applied universities.
