Airworthiness requirements analysis for auxiliary power unit of civil regional aircraft

The airworthiness regulation for Auxiliary Power Unit(APU) of civil regional aircraft was studied. For the level of APU in aircraft system, the Technical Standard Order CTSO-C77b was determined as the key airworthiness technical requirement. The production and evolution history was analyzed along with the Federal Aviation Administration(FAA) TSO-C77b, and the airworthiness clauses were reclassified based on the specific content and technical characteristics. Through the contrastive analysis and correlation between aero engine airworthiness regulation FAR-33/CCAR-33R2 and CTSO-C77b, it is proposed that the technical documents and related research results of FAR-33/CCAR-33R2 can be used for APU airworthiness technical requirement study and the reasonability and sufficiency are proved. The results are referential for the construction and development of the APU airworthiness system in China.
