A Study of the Developmental Feature of External Ear by Measurmert

The four anthropometric indices of external ear on 4308 individuals from 2 to 25 years old were measured for study the sexual difference and the postnatal developmental feature.The correlative analyses between physiognomic ear length and physiognomic facial height.physiognomic ear breadth and bizygomatic breadth were calculated.The results show as fol lowing:The physiognomic ear breadth,auriculotemporal angle Ⅰ,Ⅱ in individuals over 5 years old and the physiognomic ear length in individuals over 9 years old showed significant sexual difference(P0.05).The developmental rate of ear auride,as that of facial develop ment,showed growth peak,from infancy to childhood.After this peroid.the growth rate of ear auride decreased,therefore,it's growth rate was slower than facial growth.
