Morphologic Study on the Neopallial Histogenesis in different Cerebral Regions of Human Fetus Ⅱ.Study on Ventricular,Subventricular,Intermediate and Subplate Zones

The cortical plate and marginal zone in prefrontal area,motor area,temporal area,occipi tal area and insula of fetuses ranging from 11 weeks up to 38 weeks of fetal age have been studied already.In the present study,nine fetuses ranging from 11 to 17 weeks were selected to study the ventricular,subventricular,intermediate and subplate zones of cerebral wall,all of them will develop into constitution of cerebral cotex.Under light microscopy,the ventricu lar zone and subventricular zone,intermediate zone,subplate zone in all the five areas were observed and thicknesses of each zone were measured.Comparisions were taken on morpholo gy and thickness of the same zone in the different areas at the same age and in the same area at different ages.The results indicate as follows:(1)The inner zones of the cerebral wall de velop and mature slightly earlier than the outer ones.Each zone of the cerebral wall has its own period of rapid growth spurt during development,and the rapid growth of various zones may overlap each other in time span.(2)at the fatal age of 11 weeks, there is a presubplate zone in every areas,the real subplate zone appears between 13 weeks and 14 weeks,(3)The development of ventricular zone,subventricular zone,intermediate zone and subplate zone re lates closely to the development of conical plate.
