A Circadian Rhythm Chang Study on Interleukin 1β in the Peripheral Blood of Rat

adult male SD rats were randomly divided into four groups.The animals were administed intraperitoneally with lipopolysaccharide(LPS) at four different periods of time;16:00,22:00,04:00 and 10:00h. 2h after injection,the rats were anesthetized and their peripheral blood were taken at 18:00,24:00,06:00,12:00h respectively.The levels of Interleukin 1β(IL 1 β)in the peripheral blood were measursed using radioactive analysis.The results showed that the peaks of IL-1 β level were at 6:00h,the lower were at 24:00h and reached the lowest level at 12:00 and 18:00h.Significant difference was found between 6:00 and 12:00 groups,06:00 and 18:00 groups(P0.05).The result suggested that the levels of the IL 1 β in the peripheral blood of the rat show significant circadian rhythm.
