Effect of Hypoxia on Proliferation of Neural Stem Cells in Embryonic Rats

Objective To study the effect of hypoxia on proliferation of neural stem cells(NSCs)from embryonic rats. Methods The expression of Nestin and Fos in brain of embryonic rats with hypoxia in the inner of the uterus was studied with immunohistochmistry,and the results were analyzed by image processing system. Results The colour of the immunohistochemical staining of Nestin and Fos in hypoxia group(HG)was more dark than that of control group(CG)(P0.05),and the quantity of postive cells in HG was more than that of CG(P0.05).Conclusion (1)Hypoxia can stimulate proliferation of the NSC.The expression of Fos may be one of the mechanism of proliferation of the NSC.(2)The model of hypoxia in the inner of the uterus could be established by making the conceiring female rat in hypotonic hypoxia.
