Investigation of the Mainz Emergency Evaluation Score System on Emergency Nursing Care

Objective To investigate the Mainz emergency evaluation score system in emergency nursing care.Methods According to the Mainz emergency evaluation score system,a scoring form was conduted to emergency patients,the dates were recorded by the nurses and the doctor who the patients first meet,and there were four score groups as follows:1—5 points,6—15 points,16—25 points,25—28 points.The appropriate care plan was developed according to ratings level,and the scores section of the whereabouts and the prognosis of patients were tracked and compared.Results All of patients were made triage managment as follows: 17 cases,25-28 points,asked to go home observation;16-25 points,109 patients,treated in the emergency observation discharged from hospital after 2-24h,given general care;615 points,154 cases,conduted first-class nursing care,among them 38 cases into the intensive care unit(ICU),116 cases admitted tohigh dependency unit(HDU);1-5 points 72 patients,selected to ICU.Conclusion The Mainz emergency evaluation score system can be adopted to give satisfactory prediction of emergency patients condition and severity,a tool whereby appropriate triage referral can be implemented,and the according care programs can be made to improve the working efficiency,reduce the workload of emergency department nurses.
