The Application and Development Prospect of Antimicrobial Peptides

As an important component of our inherent immune system,antimicrobial peptides can be separated by most of the species.The peptides are toxic against a broad spectrum of bacteria,fungus,viruses and even neoplasm by the mechanisms of attach to and insert into the cell membrane,cell walls or bind to cellular respiration,which are special and high-efficiency,so that we presented an overview of properties and applications of antimicrobial peptides and the peptides have been a primary focus of new drug research worldwide.
