It is not clear for the role of trkB expression in the spinal cord following injury. In this study a hemitransected spinal cord injury mode was established, then spinal tissues at injury site were harvested to perform quantitative polymerase chain reaction. The results showed that the level of trkB mRNA in the spinal cord flowing hSCI decreased significantly, compared with that of the sham tissue. Therefore,it is worthy of noting that downregulated of trkB may consist of one reason that impede the recovery.
