Objective This study aimed to observe the expression of Notch pathway in renal tissues of patients with diabetic nephropathy and to investigate its relation with kidney injury of diabetic nephropathy. Methods The tissue samples were ten pericarcinous kidney tissues and thirty-four diabetic nephropathy tissues of renal biopsy. The protein expressions of Jagged1,Notch1,NICD1 and Hes1 were determinated by immunohistochemistry. Results The protein expression levels of Jagged1,Notch1,NICD1 and Hes1 increased in diabetic nephropathy tissues. The expression of Notch pathway protein was positively correlated to 24 hurine protein, but negatively correlated to eGFR.Conclusion The activation of notch pathway may involve in kidney injury of diabetic nephropathy.
