Studies on the Domestication and Artificial Inducement Reproduction of Mount Tai Red Scale Fish

The Mount Tai Red-scale Fish is one of rare fishes in mountain streams on Mount Tai. Studies on the artificial inducement reprodution of the fish have been carried out sincc the summer of 1982. As a result, we obtained 4000 prelarvae and 60 samples of the developing eggs. The results of inducement skewed that the females and males of Mount Tai Red-scale Fish can be induced to mature by means of injecting with small dosage of the LRH-A or the pituitary in coucian carp. The spawning of Mount Tai Red-scale Fish usally takes place in the early morning between 5: 00 and 10: 00. At the water temperature of 20-25℃, 55 minntes after fertilization, it undergoes the first cleavage. 58 hours and 35 minutes after fertilization, embryoes begin to break abd hateh out. Newly hathed larvae have a body length of 6-6.5mm. About 110 hours after hatching, the fry will be able to swim.
