Study on Settlement Control Measures for Shield Tunnel Closely Crossing Underneath Existing Subway Station

In this paper, the construction of a shield tunnel closely crossing underneath existing subway station is numerically simulated by means of MIDAS GTS NX software. According to the measured data, the influence of shield construction on the settlement deformation of existing station was analyzed under the two conditions about arrangement of four rows of pre-embedded pile foundations and no arrangement of pre-embedded pile foundations. Pre-embedded pile foundation measures for closely underneath crossing shield construction can effectively control the deformation of existing stations and meet the requirements of the settlement control. On this basis, the deformation mechanism of the pre-embedded pile foundation and the influence of different design parameters on the existing station deformation control are analyzed. The results show, in the optimal design of pre-embedded pile foundation, the bearing capacity design of the lateral pile foundation should be mainly considered. At the same time, on the selection of design parameters of pile foundation, the optimum ratio of length to diameter and distance to diameter ratio of each row of pile foundation are found through trial calculation, the external pile spacing is reduced and the internal pile spacing is expanded appropriately to further reduce the settlement deformation of the existing stations, and it provides the preliminary reference for the design of pile foundation in similar projects.
