STUDIES ON THE RATES OF NO - 3 AND NH + 4 UPTAKE OF DETACHED KOOTS AND NRA OF LEAVES OF DIFFERENT AMMONIUM TOLERATED PLANTS

The rates of NO - 3 and NH + 4 uptake of cucumber,tomato ,wheat,rice and lettuce detached roots in 1-5 mmol/L NH 4NO 3 solution have been studied.There was more NO - 3 than NH + 4 absorbed in tomato and cucumber.But it was contrary in rice and lettuce.The wheat choices of NO - 3 and NH + 4 were not strong.All the differences on related to the induction of 0.05 and 0.1mol/L KNO 3 solution.The nitrate reductase activity of cucumber leaves was largely stronger than that of rice leaves.The different availability of NO - 3 and NH + 4 was mainly due to different absorptuity of variant plants.
