Division of annual growth pulse of young China fir stand and an analysis of its relevant climatic factors

Annual growth pulse of young China fir stand and effects of climatic factors on its growth are bases for rational division of China fir producing areas, bettering its plantation plan and properly carrying out its management. Gaoxian County in Sichuan was taken as a test spot. For four years running from 1985 to 1988, every ten days regular observations were made on the breast-height diameter and height growth in five to eight years old China fir stands with different density. Results have shown that the demonstration of annual growth pulse of young China fir stands situated in tropical humid climatic province in central Asia and analysis and prediction of main climatic factors influencing their growth are reliable and typical of this region.
