A Research into the Growth Course of Olea europaea in River Valleys of Xichang, Sichuan Province

An analysis is given to the growth course of 20 varieties in the Olea europaea garden of Xichang within 14 years after their planting. The results have shown that Frantoio, Pullazeqini and Y8_(11) are adaptable to local natural and planting conditions, but Mixa: GLS. No. 167, Nisioti, etc. are slightly inferior. A part of varieties can earlier come into the full fruit period. Irrigation in drought seasons, medium or higher spreading of manure and management of soil are essential for realization of early bearing and high yield and prevention from premature decay.
