THE GOVERNING PARTIAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS AND PERTURBATION SOLUTION OF NONLINEAR BENDING OFTHIN RECTANGULAR PLATE

A problem of nonlinear bending of thin rectangular plates is dealt with in the paper.The coupled nonlinear governing partial differential equations interms of displacements are obtained by use of dilatation function,and bending moments.Then by taking use of perturbation technique the uncoupled nonlinear governing partial differential equations turns further into a series of uncoupled linear partial differential equa tations.An example of the problem of nonlinear bending of rectangular plate subjected to uniformly distributed transverse load with the fixed boundary supports is given.
