A TEU-YEAR COMPNRATIVE STUDY ON BODY DEVELOPMENT OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN CHENGDU

This paper reports the secular growth trend of middle school students in chengdu from 1983 to 1993. The results showed that The average increase in body heignt was 3. 28 cm for boys and 2. 92 cm for girls and the average growth in body weight was 3. 32 Kg for boys and 4. 44 kg for girls since 1983. No increase in chestmeasurement was observed. The cross ages for the three indices in 1993 were 0-1 year ahead of that in 1983. The growth speed showed no increase except for the boys'height.
