The role of the ischemic preconditioning in alleviating the renal injury by WBC for acute ischemia -reperfusion

The role of the ischemic preconditioning(IPC) in alleviating the renal jnjury by WBC for acute ischemia reperfusion was investigated by use of the model of acute ischemia reperfusion in rabbits. The experiments were porformed in right nephrectomy in IPC ,ischemia reperfusion (IR) and control groups. The WBC in blood was counted respectively before ischemia,at 60 min after ischemia and at 60 min,120 min after reperfusion. Left renal coefficient (LRC) , Lipid peroxides(LPO) and WBC in kidney were detected and the pathologic changes in tubules were scored in light microscope at 120 min after reperfusion. The results indicated there are significant differences in indexes above comparing the IR with the IPC and control at .120 min after reperfusion (p0. 05 - 0. 01) ,and the changes of WBC in blood were positive related to the LPO,LRC and scores of the tubules,WBC in kidney were positive related to the LRC and scores of tubules (P0. 05). However,compared with control,the indexes of the IPC are not significantly changed,but WBC in kidney significantly decreased (P0. 01). It suggested WBC is an im-portmant factor in renal injury,and the IPC plays a role in alleviating renal injury by WBC with ischemia reperfusion.
