We have sequenced the partial exon of the zinc finger genes(ZFY and ZFX)in China Holstein and obtained another in Japanese-black、Sheep、Horse、Pig and Human from NCBI.Among these species, the percentage of the nucleotide sequence similarities of the ZFX gene were93.13~99.61%and90.19~97.65%for the ZFY gene.Of 255sites in the ZFX and ZFY gene sequences,25for ZFX gene and37for ZFY gene were found to be variable. The racial distance is longer the variance is bigger. The rates of synonymous substitution per site were higher in the ZFY exon than in the ZFX exon in these species.Comparison of the ZFX and ZFY genes revealed that the synonymous substitution levels were different between China Holstein and Japanese-black of bos tarrus.
