Effect of “Qinli Gujing Granule(QGG)” on IL-1β and TGF-β_1 in rats kidney tissue with Mesangial Prolifertive Glomerulonephritis

Objective:To investigate the effect of QGG(main ingredients:Lycium Chinese Mill,Euryale ferox Salisb,Smilax glabra Roxb) on IL-1β and TGF-β_1 with MSPGN.The model was induced by repeated injection of anti-Thy1 antiserum.Methods:32 rats were randomly divided into four groups,the control group,the MSPGN group,the Shenyan Kangfu Tablet(SKT)-treated group and the QGG-treated group.Kidney were taken on day 7 to measure The level of IL-1β in cultured Mesangial cells with RIA and the expression of TGF-β_1 with immuno-histochemistry.Results:the level of IL-1 in cultured Mesangial cells and the expression of TGF-β_1 increase in the MSPGN rats as compared with the control rats(P0.01).The level of IL-1β in cultured Mesangial cells and the expression of TGF-β_1 decrease in the QGG-treated rats as compared with the MsPGN rats(P0.01)and the effect of decreasing the expression of TGF-β_1 in the QGG-treated rats was better than the SKT-treated rats(P0.05).Conclusion:The level of IL-1β in cultured Mesangial cells and the expression of TGF-β_1 in kidney tissue of the MsPGN rats was decreased effectively when treated by QGG.QGG can inhibit mesangial cell and extra cellullarmatrix proliferation.QGG will be available in treating MsPGN and prevent the disease worsening.
